Below are descriptions of the four tracks for the ATD Houston 2024 conference. The track descriptions are broad categories, but all focus on the conference theme, EmPOWER Talent.
Future Readiness
Are you passionate about driving innovation in learning and development? This track is your chance to share your expertise! We seek proposals from Talent Development professionals who champion incorporating new technology into training.
Do you have experience leveraging AI, VR, automation, or other emerging tools to create engaging and effective learning experiences? This track is designed for you to showcase your success stories and inspire colleagues.
Continuous Learning
By maximizing the effectiveness of Continuous Learning initiatives, we can empower employees to collaborate seamlessly, ensuring operational growth across teams. This track focuses on the critical skills needed to foster effective collaboration in teams powered by these innovative models.
We're seeking speakers who can delve into essential elements like Microlearning, Personalized Learning Paths, and Gamification. Your expertise in leveraging Social Learning, Mobile Learning, and Adaptive Learning Technologies is crucial in empowering teams. Additionally, your insights on Data-Driven Analytics and AI's role in content creation and curation are highly valued.
Contemporary Best Practices
The learning landscape has transformed dramatically since 2020. Are you a thought leader ready to share your insights on building effective strategies for today's dynamic world? This track seeks proposals that address critical factors shaping Learning and Development (L&D).
We invite you to explore the impact of globalization, identify trending topics, and discuss strategies for a diverse and multi-generational workforce. Share your expertise on fostering a culture of belonging, integrating employee wellbeing, and navigating an evolving cultural and global L&D landscape. Strategic Talent Management
Are you a visionary in crafting talent development strategies? This track is your platform to share your expertise and inspire a dynamic workforce. We're seeking proposals that explore aligning talent development with organizational goals. Showcase your insights into identifying future leadership needs and finding the right balance between internal development and strategic recruitment.
Inclusivity is key. Share your strategies for tailoring talent development programs for diverse groups, such as early-career recruits, seasoned professionals, and veterans. By focusing on leadership development, targeted recruitment, and customized learning experiences, organizations can build a powerful force ready to conquer any challenge. Explore topics like aligning instructional design with business goals, engaging a diverse audience, building buy-in from stakeholders, and crafting a winning build/buy talent strategy.
The ATD Capability Model
Act NowWe emphasize use of the ATD Capability Model. Reviewers will reference that model when evaluating your submissions.
Several ATD Houston members made their first conference presentations with less than five years’ experience. All you need is something worthy to share and a great way to share it. That said, here’s an offer to those of you who have never presented. If you desire a pep talk or coaching session to get create a submission, send an email to pastpresident@tdhouston.org.
